Because Crossroads isn't a normal RP site, it follows a slightly differant method then most RP sites. This thread will break down the steps for you. =)
First off, look to see if there isn't already an active RP that is similar to the one you want to start -we don't want 20 differant horse threads with only 3 people playing in each thread!
Then you'll head over to the good ol' OOC board. The OOC board is the place for all planning involved outside of the actual RP. When you want to start a RP, post the information about it in the OOC board. For your conveniance, there is a form to follow outlining the stuff we need to know.
Starting a RP earns you the rank of the gamemaster for that RP. As gamemaster, you have the responsibility of checking characters, keeping the thread active, and so on.
After you have filled out the information about your RP and it has been OK'ed by a staff member, you can post the character form. The character form is a sheet that anyone making a character for your RP must fill out...as gamemaster, you choose how detailed or brief it can be.
Now, other members can start posting in the OOC planning thread for the RP. They can fill out the character sheet, ask questions, comment, and so on and so forth.
When you want to join a RP, fill out the character sheet provided. The sheet has to be accepted by the gamemaster. Once at least two members have signed up for a RP thread (the gamemaster, of course, should have a character in the game!), the gamemaster can post the IC -Or In Character- thread in the appropriate board. Then the other accepted characters can jump in, and voila! you have a RP.
Can I have more then one character in a RP?
Yes. But only up to two characters per thread. This prevents confusion, powerplaying, and total thread domination.
Can I join more then one RP thread?
Oh, yes, of course! Join as many as you want!
What if a thread has already started- can I still join?
Yep. Just post your character's bio in the planning thread and have it accepted by the game master.
If I want to discuss the RP out of character, where should I post?
In the corresponding planning thread in the OOC board. Now, if you need to post something in the IC thread that's mandatory, you can put double parantheses ((like this)) around the OOC information, but keep most of the planning stuff in the planning thread.
